Our Quran Teachers

Identity verified, certificates checked, approved course by course. How we vet every online Quran teacher, and how to ask for a female Quran teacher.

Choosing an online Quran teacher for your child is mostly an act of trust. You are giving someone time alone with your son or daughter, several times a week, often in a language you do not speak. EverHidayah is an academy, not a marketplace, so you are never handed a list of strangers. This page explains who teaches here, what is checked before they meet a child, how a request for a female Quran teacher is handled, and why you will never see a teacher’s surname.

How we vet every online Quran teacher

Teachers do not sign themselves up at EverHidayah. Onboarding is by invitation, and nobody takes a class until the academy has completed all of these steps.

  • Identity documents collected and verified by the academy.
  • Teaching certificates collected and verified by the academy before the profile is shown to any family.
  • A written agreement signed, covering recording, monitoring and conduct.
  • Approval course by course. A teacher approved for Noorani Qaida is not automatically approved for Hifz. Each approval is recorded separately, with the date and the admin who granted it.

That last point is the one worth asking any academy about. Approval is not a note in a file. A teacher cannot be placed on a course they have not been approved for, and the check runs again if your child’s teacher ever changes. A teacher who has been suspended cannot enter a classroom at all, and a teacher who is not yet verified is never assigned a class in the first place.

What the qualifications actually mean

Titles from a madrasa education are specific, and worth knowing before you compare one online Quran teacher with another.

  • Hafiz: a man who has memorized the entire Quran, all thirty juz, and can recite it from memory.
  • Hafizah: a woman who has done the same.
  • Aalim: a man who has completed the full classical course of Islamic scholarship, which runs for several years and covers Arabic, the Quranic sciences, hadith and fiqh.
  • Alimah: a woman who has completed that same scholarly course.

A longer title is not automatically the better fit. For a five-year-old starting Noorani Qaida, patience with absolute beginners matters more than years of study. For Hifz you want a hafiz or hafizah, someone who knows from the inside what the sabaq, sabqi and manzil cycle asks of a child.

Asking for a female Quran teacher for your daughter

Some families will want a female Quran teacher for their daughter, and some adult women learners will want one too. You state that preference when you book the free trial, and again whenever you ask to change teacher. For the trial it is more than a note in a file. The rule sits in the part of the system that assigns teachers, so a teacher of the other gender cannot be booked, whether or not anyone remembers to check. Beyond the trial the academy matches and re-matches to the preference you have set, and a request for a female teacher is honored.

Why you will never see a surname

Families see a teaching name and the teacher’s qualifications. Never a surname, a phone number, an email address or a social media handle. This is not a matter of leaving those details off the page. The teacher record your account is allowed to read does not contain a surname, a number or an address at all, so there is nothing to leak by accident.

Masking protects three different people at once.

  • Your child. There is no private text channel between a teacher and a child. Message threads run between the teacher and you, the parent. Every class is recorded to your library.
  • Your family. There is no rail for moving your classes off the platform into a private cash arrangement. No one can pay a teacher directly through anything we built, and contact details shared in messages are flagged or blocked.
  • The teacher. A teacher who is never asked for a personal number is never put in an awkward position by a well-meant offer. If one is made, they can raise it with the academy.

Classes are recorded, and messages between families and teachers are monitored for safety and for shared contact details.

An illustrative profile

The profile below shows the format only. It is not a real teacher, and no real teacher is named anywhere on this site. Your child’s actual teacher is introduced when they are matched, after the free trial.

Ustadh Kamran. Hafiz, Aalim. Approved to teach Noorani Qaida and Hifz. Speaks Urdu and Hindi. Calm, unhurried classes; patient with children who need a slow start.

How matching works, after the trial

You do not pick a teacher before meeting anybody. The free trial comes first: a real thirty-minute class with a vetted trial specialist, no card required, and you are welcome to sit in. It doubles as a level assessment, and afterwards you receive a written recommendation of which course to start on and where to begin.

Only then do we match a teacher, using what the trial showed: your child’s level, the gender preference you set, the course, the times that work in your timezone, and which teacher suits a child of that age and temperament. From there it is the same teacher every class, on a fixed weekly schedule. The plans page explains how that rhythm is chosen.

If the trial did not feel like the right fit, say so. You can take another free trial with a different teacher, and the first one is left out of the matching by default.

If your teacher changes, the journey does not restart

The academy holds your child’s record, not the teacher. That record holds their exact position in the Qaida lessons, or across the 604 pages of the mushaf, and the memorization strength of every surah and juz in Hifz. It holds the understanding, effort and fluency ratings from every class, the homework recitations and the feedback on them. It holds certificates, practice streaks and the journey timeline. Class recordings stay in your library for six months, and any recording holding a Moment your teacher marked is kept for as long as your account exists.

Before every class, the teacher opens a briefing the academy generates: where your child is now, what is due for revision, how the last homework went, which of the three ratings have been slipping, and the note the last teacher left. A new teacher begins knowing everything the last one knew.

If you want a different teacher, you file a request with a reason and, if you wish, a gender preference. The academy re-matches and the whole record moves across untouched. More of these questions are answered on the questions parents ask page.

Once you know who teaches, the next question is usually what they teach. Nazra takes a child through the whole mushaf, and Tajweed runs through the reading courses and also stands on its own as a rule-by-rule track.
