Online Quran Classes: Questions Parents Ask
Straight answers for parents about our online Quran classes: who teaches, recordings, live translation, the free trial and holiday pauses.
Choosing online Quran classes means handing your child to a teacher you have never met, in a country you have probably never visited. These are the questions parents ask before that, answered plainly.
We would rather you judged us from a class than from a star rating. The trial is a real class with a real teacher, and it costs nothing.
Who will teach your child the Quran
Who will actually be teaching my child?
A qualified teacher from the academy’s teaching bench in India, matched by the academy to your child’s level, age and your preferences. Teachers join by invitation and hold credentials as Hafiz, Hafizah, Aalim or Alimah.
Why can I not see a teacher’s full name or contact details?
Families see a teaching name, qualifications and a short introduction. Never a surname, phone number, email or social handle. This is not a setting anyone can switch off. Those details are simply not part of what a family account can see, and the rule keeps teaching inside the academy, where classes are recorded. The teacher profiles on this site, including those on our Quran teachers page and the home page, are illustrative. The real teacher is introduced after the trial.
Can I ask for a female teacher for my daughter?
Yes, and the academy matches a female teacher whenever one is available for your child’s times. You state the preference when you book the trial and it stays on file for every match afterwards.
What happens if the teacher is not the right fit?
You tell us what is not working, and the academy matches your child with a different teacher. Nothing restarts. Curriculum position, recordings and timeline belong to the child, not to the teacher, and the academy works to keep your weekly slot. The next teacher opens a briefing card showing where your child is and what is due for revision.
Safety and recordings
How do you keep my child safe with a teacher they have never met?
Every class is recorded, and recording starts only once both sides are connected. Documents and certificates are verified before a teacher takes a first class. There is no private channel to your child: chat runs parent to teacher, children’s classrooms carry no text chat, and family threads are scanned for contact details.
Who can watch the recordings, and how long do you keep them?
You watch in your own library through short-lived private links, and every playback is logged. The academy can open any recording, and flagged classes are reviewed. Nothing is public or downloadable. Recordings are kept for six months and then deleted automatically. There is one exception. When a teacher marks a Moment, something in the class worth keeping, that recording stays for as long as your account does.
I do not speak Urdu. How do I talk to the teacher?
Live translation is built into the classroom and runs both ways. Hold the button and speak in English; the teacher hears Urdu. When the teacher holds their button, you hear English. Both sides see when translation is on. It translates live speech, not chat messages.
The free trial
What actually happens in the free trial class?
A real thirty-minute class with a trial specialist, in the same classroom your child would use every week. It doubles as a level assessment, so you receive a written recommendation of which course to start and where to begin. You are welcome to sit in. If the fit was not right, the report includes a link to book one more free class with a different teacher.
Do I have to give card details to book a trial?
No card at any point before you decide. Booking creates your family account with your email and a password, and asks your child’s first name and age band, then shows live class times in your own timezone. If a trial teacher has a free slot you take it; otherwise you give us windows and we find a time.
Can adults learn here, or is it only for children?
Yes. Adults learn here too, with their own account and their own progress, and the same female teacher preference is carried on your file. The four courses are the same: Noorani Qaida for a true beginner, Nazra for reading the mushaf, Hifz for memorization, and Tajweed for someone who already reads.
Times, misses, holidays and siblings
We are several hours from India. How does scheduling work?
You never do the arithmetic. Every time appears in your own timezone, teachers keep availability in Indian time and the app converts. Classes are fixed weekly slots chosen around school, with reminders a day, an hour and ten minutes before. If nobody suitable is free in your window, you join the waiting list.
What happens if we miss a class?
Ask to move a class with at least twelve hours’ notice and the request goes to the teacher, who confirms the new time. If you cancel instead, with at least twelve hours’ notice, the class comes back to you as a makeup credit. Credits are capped at four a month and used against your own teacher’s open slots. Inside twelve hours the class counts as taken. If the teacher misses a class, the credit is issued automatically.
What about Eid, and can we pause for a few weeks?
The academy keeps a holiday calendar: Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha and academy days off. Those classes skip automatically and no makeup credit is spent. Longer pauses are allowed too, up to four weeks a year. You ask, and a person handles it; nothing is ever suspended automatically. If a pause runs past two weeks we release your weekly slot to other families, and find you a new time when you come back.
Do siblings each need their own account?
No. One parent account holds every child, and each child keeps their own profile, curriculum position, progress and weekly report. A sibling discount applies automatically from the second child.
What you see between classes
What can I actually see as a parent?
Open your phone at any hour and this is what is there:
- The Quran map: all 604 pages of the mushaf colouring in as your child reads, and the thirty ajza filling in as your child memorises.
- The journey timeline: milestones, certificates and the Moments the teacher marked.
- The recordings library, the homework queue, the schedule and your messages.
- Course detail: Hifz shows memorization strength surah by surah and juz by juz; Qaida moves every exercise from not started, to learning, to mastered.
What is in the weekly report?
One email per child each week: classes attended and punctuality, curriculum movement with a link to the Quran map, homework done, the teacher’s own note and the practice streak. The streak allows one recovery a week, so one missed day does not undo a term. A quiet week sends nothing.
Your data, and how to begin
What do you store about my child?
A first name, an age band, gender and notes on their level. No surname, no address, no date of birth. You are the account holder and consent on your child’s behalf, including to recording. A teacher only ever sees their own assigned students.
What does it cost, and how do we start?
Plans run at two, three or five classes a week, monthly or quarterly, with a sibling discount and holiday pauses included. Launch prices are not published here: the academy confirms your price with you personally after the trial, in your own currency. Plans and how enrolling works explains the class counts, the sibling discount and how pauses are handled.
